1. identify one type of project management tool that could be used to keep track of the project tasks and explain why it is suitable for this task. [3]

A project management tool such as a production schedule (1 mark) would be suitable to use for creating the road safety computer game as it outlines (1 mark) tasks which need to be done in a certain time in order for the product to be ready for the client, this is also suitable because it create a chronological order for the tasks to be completing and organises them due to the timescales.
To create a production schedule you could use a software like excel as you can easily insert timescales and tasks into the table which need to be completed.  (1 mark)

• Pre-production: Includes all the planning and drafting stages of a media products, creating preproduction documents such as scripts, storyboards etc.
• Production: includes making the product.
• Post-production: includes any ways which a product is edited.

LO1- regulatory bodies

Regulatory bodies-The regulatory body is an organisation which ensure people follow rules/law/guidelines. Regulation is about monitoring a product and making such a product is appropriate to an audience. 

It is important to regulate media products because it can harm a companies reputation if offensive content is shown.

LO1:types of digital media product

Using the internet find an example of a media product for each of the following types of digital media products, state the legal issues linked/considered for the product.

TV production:

• A TV production such as 'E!news' has to consider legal issues such as slander, this is harmful/offensive words which are spoken, they have to consider this when reporting on 'gossip' as some of this may not be true and could harm someones reputation. To get around this they often use words such as 'allegedly'. They may also have to consider copyright if they use/make a logo from the companies they report on or  they advertise their own logos. They have to put copyright on any logos they make in order for people not to use them as their own.
• The regulatory body used for this would be Ofcom this is because Ofcom monitor with content that is put on TV, they would have to stick to the guidelines appropriate for that type/the time the programme is on.

Social media campaign:

• YouTubers such as 'Sanders Kennedy' are categorised as a gossip channel , because of this he has to consider slander and libel as he reports through speech and written statements, although he reports mainly on factual information he still has to consider how he gets his point across often using the word 'allegedly' (much like other gossip channels/new reports). if he did not use words like this he could face prosecution because he may be damaging a persons reputation if bad/false statements were shown. He may also have to consider this when reporting on social media he has to consider libel as if he writes statements which can damage someone reputation and post it on his social media I can mean he is breaching libel. 
• Also YouTube channels which use music would have to consider copyright as the music they use either has to be their own or one they have asked permission for, a lot of YouTubers credit the music to ensure they do not breach the copyright law.
• W3C would be the regulatory body which regulate this type of media as they regulate web content.

Digital amination:

• The digital animation Shrek created by dreamworks has to consider legal issues such as copyright because they may need copyright their characters,music used,logos and any significant aspects of the film. They may also need to gain copyright from any assets taken from elsewhere. They also have to consider slander as they have to ensure no offensive language and behaviour is present, this is also reinforced by the rating of the film as it is rated 'U'
• The regulatory body responsible for regulating animation would be BBFC as they regulate films and videos which Shrek is a film.

Radio production:

• BBC radio 2 have to consider copyright because if they play any music which is not theirs they would have gain copyright or have a license to play them in order for them not to breach the copyright. Also if they create any theme tunes, logos etc. they will have to copyright that as it is their intellectual property.
• Ofcom would regulate the radio media as they are responsible for broadcasting, telecommunications and postal industries in the UK.

Graphic novel:

• When producing a graphic novel such as 'the walking dead: days gone by' you have to consider copyright and your intellectual property as by putting copyright on your product it insures no one can take a character/plot/narrative/art and use it as their own, also if you want to use something of someone else's such as a character/plot/narrative than you would have to ask permission to use them. You can ask permission for a copyrighted assets my phone, email,letter or if more informal social media. You may need to consider the content of a graphic novel to ensure it is not offensive/harmful to someone especially if it is targeted at children and teens.
