Slander have the rights to sue, you can be asked to page compensation.

Freedom of information Act:
1. Definition of what it means.
It allows the public to access information held about them,the government hold that information. eg. medical records, birth certificates, address.
2.Three reasons why it is important.
It gives the public the trust of the government as they can see all the information held.
3. What are the consequences of not adhering to this law?
They have a chance to fix a problem and are given decision notices and could be fined

They didn't supply information in the time that is given

Copyright designs and patents Act:
1. Definition of what it means.
Stops copying someone's work and using it as your own. Anything designed should such as a logo, the colour, texture and design should be protected by this.

To give people protection of their own work

people can be prosecuted for this and often made to pay a big fine.

Copying a logo which is copyrighted and you don't have permission you can be prosecuted.

Describes a physical creation which a person has thought of.

Keeps your product safe so people cant use it, beneficial for anyone who creates or designs a product.

If you break copyright infringement you can be prosecuted get a big fine

Legal battles between Apple and Samsung between the intellectual property of their products
